Renault 19 Chamade Ph.1 16S Blue Sport 1989
The last Renault to have a number as a name, the 19 was marketed in 1988 with the aim of improving the image of the brand. The idea was to compete with German cars and to offer a car with a quality finish capable of driving for a long, long time! The risk was worth it and the 19 was an immediate success across the Rhine. The sporty version, baptized the 16S, was offered in the catalogue from 1990. Here too, the objective was to seduce and counter the competition. And to do this, Renault also launched a sporty version of the Chamade, a version with a trunk, of the 19! While it was not a commercial success, this version remains popular with collectors.
