Vauxhall Chevette GR.B 1983

England’s Russell Brookes, two-time England rally champion in 1977 and 1985, was best known for his cars in a yellow, red and blue livery. These are indeed the colours of the company Andrews - Heat for Hire (which manufactures electric heaters) with which Russell Brookes (then a Ford driver) signed a sponsorship in 1974. This collaboration lasted until Brookes’ last season in rallying, in 1991. This unprecedented longevity in rallying between a driver and his sponsor has spanned decades and brands. The “Andrews” livery is a cult favorite for all rally enthusiasts in the UK. In 1982 and 1983 he drove for Vauxhall’s importer who handled Opel shipments in the UK. In 1983, Brookes placed the Vauxhall Chevette in a decent 5th place in the local round of the World Rally Championship, the RAC Rally.
