Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk1 ABT Alpine White 1982
In 1896, a blacksmith by the name of Johann Baptist Abt opened his own business and founded his own company. In 1950, his grandson got involved in motor sports. 17 years later, ABT Tuning was created by Johann Abt with, as its first model, a modified Fiat 500 Abarth! Since then, one project followed another, and the vast majority of ABT creations are based on Audis and Volkswagens. So it's hardly surprising to find a Golf 1 GTI modified by the German tuner! In addition to its very 'racing' widebody kit, the ABT Golf 1 is also distinguished by its 163bhp engine (50 more than the base version), which owes a great deal to its KKK turbo borrowed from the Audi quattro.
