Renault 9 Ph.1 Turbo
In 1982, Renault introduced the R9, a classic three-volume sedan. Renault's ambition to become the European leader in the market pushed the company to release the R11, a 5-door version of the R9. Faced with the success of the sports version of the R11, Renault decided to produce the R9 Turbo, something that hadn’t been originally planned. It was released in 1984 with painted bumpers and spoilers, side stripes with the inscription "Turbo", 14” wheels and a rear axle derived from the Super 5 GT Turbo. Thus adorned, the R9 Turbo quickly became one of the foremost sports cars of the eighties.
