Toyota Celica ST165 RMC
This rally car was the racing version of the Toyota Celica coupé. Its goal was to give the Japanese brand a turn towards racing cars, and as it turns out this competitive version was a resounding success. Placed in the World Rally Championship for the Tour de Corse of 1988, it took home its first victory the year after in Australia. This 4 wheel-drive beast was able to navigate all types of courses, and allowed its pilot, the Spaniard Carlos Sainz, to achieve his piloting title in 1990. Associated with his loyal co-pilot Luis Moya, he took home the Monte Carlo Rally of 1991 after a long and arduous battle that saw them cross into Monaco’s lands.
