Citroën SM Bleu de Brégançon Métallisé 1973
The Citroën SM is the end result of the "DSport" project designed by Citroën. The acquisition of Maserati by the French brand in 1969 gave a big boost to this project. In 1970, at the Geneva Motor Show, Citroën caused a sensation by presenting its high-end coupe: the SM (S Maserati). The atypical look of the SM immediately captured the attention of the press and the public. Unfortunately, the history of the Citroën SM would brutally end in 1975, a collateral victim of the oil shock and the near-bankruptcy of Citroën. The SM would nonetheless remain a legendary car and emblematic of Citroën.
