Mercedes-Benz 300 (W124) E 5.6 AMG Black 040 1987
This car was one of the first to be equipped with the new 5.6L V8 pushing 360 hp. The engine still had not been approved by Mercedes in 1987 (the reason for which the star on the bonnet is absent, AMG still being an independent manufacturer at the time). The Mercedes-Benz 300E AMG is also the first 5-door sedan to breach the 300 km/h mark: an impressive achievement for the era, and even nowadays it remains a benchmark. Like most “Hammers” of the time, the 300E is equipped with “Aero” rims as well as a bodywork kit (specific skirts, wider fenders, and spoiler).
