Subaru Impreza WRC 2008
At the end of 2007 Subaru made a radical change to its legendary Impreza. The latter was shortened and fitted with a tailgate. From a traditional sedan the car transformed into a hatchback. In the World Rally Championship, Prodrive adapted itself and thus offered a new World Rally Car with a hatchback which was set up before mid-season. Always faithful to the blues, the 2003 world rally champion, Petter Solberg, no longer managed to compete with the Ford Focus and especially the Citroëns of Sébastien Loeb. For the first asphalt rally of the Impreza WRC'08, Petter Solberg scored a top 5 at Rally Germany. A few months later, the financial crisis got the better of Subaru's entry into the WRC after 18 seasons, marking the end of a beautiful love story which resulted in 3 constructors' titles and 3 driver titles.
