Mazda RX-7 Gr.B Acropolis Rally 1985
The European Mazda Rally Team this group B RX-7 back in 1984. It is distinctive thanks to an impressive rear wing and its Wankel engine giving it 300 horsepower for 960 kg. Despite lack of funding, the RX-7 with its rotative engine and driven by the Swede Ingvar Carlsson, ended up on the podium at the Acropolis Rally in 1985 after an impressive race. This third place would be its best performance for this competitive Japanese car. Its retirement would come at the end of the season, a few months prior to the ban on impressive group B cars by the FIA.
