In 1989 Alain Oreille, then official Simon Racing driver, made the Renault 5 GT Turbo shine on the World Rally Championship stages! The Frenchman won the Group N in the World Championship with the little French car. A glorious season which culminated at the Ivory Coast Rally where Alain Oreille and his R5 GT Turbo won the scratch race ahead of the few Gr.A cars entered on this very tough rally. A legend was born! So what could be more natural than for Renault to offer a special edition to celebrate this success? This is how the Renault Super 5 GT Turbo "Alain Oreille" came on the market. A limited edition now very rare on our roads.
