Citroën AX Super Production

In the 1980s and 1990s, the Supertourism Championship attracted crowds and manufacturers, both in France and elsewhere in Europe. The vast majority of the cars entered were large saloon cars that were lowered, widened, lightened and equipped with a powerful engine. So it was quite a surprise when in 1987 Citroën Sport unveiled the AX Superproduction! With a very large kit, a polyester body, a right-hand steering wheel and a 480hp engine, the AX had everything it needed to attract attention. Only four models were built and one of them was driven by former Formula 1 driver Jean-Pierre Jarier. Unfortunately, the results were not there and the AX was quickly abandoned.
