Renault Le Car Turbo IMSA 1981
At the end of the Seventies, Renault decided to send its Renault 5 across the pond. It would simply be called "Le Car". At the same moment, IMSA was considered a cup for compact cars, supposed to be a prologue to endurance races. In 1981 Renault developed a version derived from the Renault 5 Turbo. This bodybuilding version would be set up for several races, equipped with a specific bodywork kit and sporting the traditional Renault colours for the competition.
