Renault Espace F1
The Espace F1 is a common project realized by Renault and Matra. It is created in 1994 to celebrate the 10 years of existence of the famous monospace of the French manufacturer. It is a "bodybuilt" Espace which has a Formula 1 engine developing 780hp! The engine comes from the Williams FW15C powered by Renault and champion in 1993 with Alain Prost. Presented in 1994 during the Paris Motor Show, this "concept car" will only run for a few press events with Eric Bernard or Alain Prost at the wheel in the 90's then Jean Ragnotti at the beginning of the 2000's and has been used as a "Safety Car" during some Formula 1 Grand Prix! The Espace F1 quickly entered popular culture as the best example of the creative freedom of the 90s in terms of cars.
