Saviem SB2 Assistance Course

The SAVIEM (Société Anonyme de Véhicules Industriels et d'Equipements Mécaniques) van more commonly known as the SB2, is the front-wheel drive variation of the SG2 (Super Goélette). In France, any work from postman to milkman, artisan or delivery man, made use of its robust design and comfortable forward suspension, while the rigid rear axle could support up to 2150 kg for transport. Born from the lozenge brand, the SB2 and SG2 are rebranded as SAVIEM in 1971 and would finish their careers at Renault Industrial Vehicles in 1980. The addition of Alpine Assistance to its name reminds us that the SB2 actively participated in mythical journey of the A110 Berlinette in rallyes. The SAVIEM was transformed into a mobile platform that allowed them to assist Alpine during races and transport spare parts to them. The SB2 is equipped with a 4-cylinder Renault petrol engine pushing 73 horsepower.
