Alpine A110 1800 Rallye Monte-Carlo 1973

Victorious in 1971, and on the podium in ‘69 and ‘70, the Alpine A110 is one of the biggest stars of the Monte-Carlo Rally. But in ‘72, the Dieppe car encountered tougher competition. Alpine launched the 1800 version of its A110 to face the 1973 season. During the 42nd Monte-Carlo Rally, its success was immediate: victory, and even an Alpine triple win! Jean-Claude Andruet made his No. 18 go down in history! This Monte-Carlo victory was just the start of a magical year. Alpine won 5 other rallies (Portugal, Morocco, Acropolis, San Remo and Tour de Corse) in 1973. Enough to easily become the world rally champion constructor that year!
