In the early '80s, Ford Europe launched a facelift for its small city car, the "Fiesta". Introduced in the middle of the previous decade, this model enjoyed immense success, both on the streets of the UK and on rally stages. The XR2 was the first sports version introduced to the Fiesta family. It stood out with its four round headlights, widened fenders, rear spoiler, and 13-inch alloy wheels. The XR2 graphics completed the city car's visual transformation into a hot hatch.
