In the early 2000s, sporty compact saloons came back into fashion. Competition was fierce in this segment: the Mégane, A3, Golf, Focus, Astra, Mazda 3… and, of course, the Seat Leon! The Spanish arm of the Volkswagen Group offered a Cupra version of the second-generation Leon. Redesigned in 2010, it also saw a boost in performance. Under the bonnet lies the four-cylinder engine shared with the Golf V and the Audi A3. Here, this Spanish rocket produces 265 chevaux and takes us past 250 km/h. In the 0–100 sprint, it even manages to beat the Mégane R26-R by a tenth of a second! This Seat Leon Cupra MK2 offered one of the best performance-to-price ratios on the market at the time. Generously equipped too, it managed to impress in many respects.
