Renault R5 Turbo Gr.4
The Renault 5 Turbo Rallye is the racing variant of the city car extrapolated from Renault. This factory made competitive version made first place in the Monte Carlo Rally of 1981, with at the helm the legendary Jean Ragnotti. With a centrally-positioned rear engine pushing 270 horsepower; its design differentiates itself from other models thanks to a reviewed injection system, kinder brakes and a pneumatic increase from 13 to 15 inches. This configuration was driven by Jean Ragnotti from 1980 to 1982, but its career would keep going long after that with several variations and an inclusion into group B. Its achievements were numerous, with a number of wins internationally; it is now a legend on wheels, and symbolises the golden age of rally-driving. It is a must-have collectible, and there are still many who continue to race with it in historic races, giving it a brief return to its past glories.
