At the beginning of the 80s, the Renault head honchos were tasked with the heavy burden of finding a successor to the Renault 5. Thus, the Supercinq was born. The GTI craze was amreadu in full swing and the Peugeot 205 GTI and the Golf were thrilling the heart of a whole generation. To take up the mantle of the Renault 5 Alpine Turbo, the French brand reviewed the lines of the Supercinq with an aggressive body kit. The small Cleon engine was equipped with a Turbo Garret, transfiguring the peaceful city car. The maximum speed is close to 200 km / h thanks to its 115 horsepower and a reduced weight of only 830 kg. The Supercinq GT Turbo became the no. 1 rival of the 205 GTI.
