Launched in 1974, the small German compact is one of Volkswagen's most popular models. Very quickly, sports versions of the Golf emerged, including the legendary GTI. The Golf was also used in numerous motorsport competitions. On the racetracks, one model stood out in particular. It featured a livery in Kamei colors and golden BBS wheels—a look that left a lasting impression and is still imitated four decades later. In fact, certain custom projects and Golf 1 Gr. 2 replicas feature these now-iconic colors for lovers of Volkswagen's little hatchback.
